Award-winning ‘Coming to the City’

August 28th, 2012

The winners of South Africa’s most prestigious business and arts awards were announced at an event held at Wits Art Museum (WAM) in Johannesburg. The Business Day BASA Awards pay tribute to businesses that are actively making a difference by sponsoring arts and culture events throughout the country.

We are delighted to say that Spier Architectural Arts in partnership with Nando’s won the ‘International Sponsorship’ award for Coming to the City.

Conceived by acclaimed artist Clive van den Berg, the 18 x 3m mosaic artwork beautifies the wall of a Nando’s restaurant in Kings Cross London.

Twelve innovative business and arts partnerships were honoured at the Awards, and it is a privilege to have received this sought-after accolade!

PS: Coming to the City has also been nominated for the BAMM (British Association for Modern Mosaic) Mosaic of the Year Award 2012. The winners will be announced at an event at the V&A Museum in London in October – we’re keeping our fingers crossed!
