Meet our First Year Apprentices 2014

August 4th, 2014

The Academy kicked off the year on a high note, as the biggest First Year group to date embarked on their new journey of becoming skilled mosaic artists. They are pictured here in their First Year uniforms – proud ambassadors of the Spier Arts Academy.

The employment-based programme presented them with a complex challenge: Learners had to balance theory classes, practical workshops in the mosaic studio, assignments and deadlines; with monthly evaluations and quarterly exams testing their mettle and mosaic skills acquired so far.

All the learners took up the challenge, and we’re proud to say that the Academy’s 21 First Year apprentices have successfully completed the first and second academic quarter’s tasks.

Cheronne, Maria, Sandile, Saeed, Khumbulani, Tiaan, Dean, Jovanti, Garnett, Ndimphiwe, Liya, Godwill, Christine, Alie, Sandile. M, Ncedo, Zamikhaya, Patrick, Marshall, Pieter and Lwando – congratulations on passing your second term at the academy, and all the best with the second half of the year!

Applications for 2015 apprenticeships are now open. Please contact us if you are interested in applying, and visit our enrolment page for more information.
